George Modular Leadership
President and CEO of George Group North,
President of George Modular Solutions,
Executive Director of Building Blocks
Devean George, Founder
Hailing from North Minneapolis, Devean George has carried an unwavering determination from his early days. As a basketball prodigy, he soared at Augsburg College, making a name for himself. Selected in the NBA draft's first round by the LA Lakers, he etched his legacy by clinching three consecutive NBA Championships. Over an impressive 11-year career, Devean played with the Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks, and the Golden State Warriors.
However, his impact transcends the court. Devoting his time, energy, and resources, Devean championed various charitable causes, especially those centered around families, education, and children. His sponsorship of "Why Can’t I Go?" offered underprivileged students enriching educational journeys, while his engagement with Buckner International in Dallas aided children escaping harmful environments.
Devean's commitment to North Minneapolis continues through George Group North, his real-estate development company, dedicated to affordable quality living. His charity organization, "Building Blocks," focuses on mentorship, housing, and community growth. Upholding the idea of rebuilding communities one step at a time, he now pioneers a new venture, George Modular Solutions, poised to create high-quality, living wage jobs from the heart of North Minneapolis.
Lewis Lockwood
CEO, George Modular Solutions
Lewis Lockwood, a metro Detroit native, brings a wealth of experience in the commercial modular industry to George Modular Solutions. A Michigan State University alumnus with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management, Lew embarked on his career as a general contractor, leaving his mark on both residential and commercial projects over two decades.
In 2011, his journey took an innovative turn towards off-site construction, leading to pivotal roles in the launch of three commercial modular companies: Champion Commercial Structures (MI), Z Modular (IL), and Rise Modular (MN). As an early adopter of volumetric modular construction, Lew identified the power of modular manufacturing. He recognized its potential to revolutionize construction by providing a controlled, efficient system that yields superior quality results in less time compared to traditional site construction.
Lew's expertise marries modular design and manufacturing with on-site construction knowledge, fostering fruitful collaborations with developers, architects, engineers, and contractors. At the core of his philosophy lies the belief that success is a team effort, valuing each team member equally. In his eyes, achievement is woven through unity, where every individual's contribution is pivotal.
